Meet the Team
-
Julia Behmlander is the founder and CEO of Duet ABA, where she serves as Supervising BCBA with a focus on practicum learning. She holds BCBA, LBA (MD & MI), and IBA certifications, and is fluent in Spanish—skills she has used to support families across cultures. Julia specializes in replacing challenging behavior with functional alternatives and teaching ABA tools that empower individuals with autism and anyone striving toward their goals. Her journey into ABA began with a personal family connection and quickly grew into a lifelong passion. Her boundless curiosity—fueled by her ADHD brain—drew her to the science’s wide applications and its power to transform lives. Julia’s lifelong mission is to transform not only ABA practice, but also how disabilities, work culture, and human potential are understood. Through Duet ABA, she is building a clinic where growth is visible, celebrated, and shared.

As the Business Director at Duet ABA, I have the privilege of supporting our team and families by ensuring our operations run smoothly and with heart. I work closely with Julia, my daughter and founder of Duet ABA, to help bring her vision to life and create a space where both clients and staff can thrive.
My journey into the world of ABA is deeply personal. As a mother to an incredible adult son thriving with autism, I have experienced firsthand the transformative power of compassionate, individualized support. This perspective fuels my commitment to making Duet ABA a place where families feel seen, heard, and empowered.
What I love most about my role is seeing the magic of ABA in action—seeing children grow, families find hope, and our dedicated team make meaningful connections every day. It is more than a job; it is a calling that aligns with my values of empathy, integrity, and collaboration.
Outside of work, I find joy in spending time with my family, exploring nature, and finding beauty in the little things. Every child deserves a champion, and I am honored to be part of a team that champions them wholeheartedly.
At Duet ABA, I am committed to supporting our families with warmth, professionalism, and purpose—ensuring our practice continues to be a place of growth, joy, and possibility.
At Duet ABA, we believe ABA should be done differently—and done better. That begins with supporting our staff, because when therapists thrive, families flourish. We cultivate a culture of teaching, learning, and shared growth across every participant: clinicians, caregivers, and clients.
So where did Duet come from?
Our name, Duet, is an acknowledgment that everything is a team effort. Every relationship—between families and clinicians, between RBTs and learners, between BCBAs and RBTs—is a duet that contributes to the chorus of growth.
And what are the frogs for?
Our logo reflects this vision. It began with birds, but evolved into frogs—creatures whose unusual songs remind us that sometimes the most unexpected voices are the most beautiful. A group of frogs is called a chorus, and just like with our people, every individual melody at Duet is met with harmony. Together, we create a place where transparency, compassion, and collaboration form a chorus of human potential.
